Versace is a popular Italian designer brand that is renowned worldwide for being sexy, baroque and finely crafted. The fashion house first began with Gianni Versace whose creations were ever evolving exciting pieces, which enticed wealthy superstars and aided the glamorous 90s supermodel era. After the tragic death of Gianni in 1997, his sister Donatella Versace moved from being Gianni's muse and artistic director for his second clothing line Versus, to the head of the business.

Two decades later the brand has seen much change with Donatella as the creative director; branching out its baroque vibrant sensuality to not only clothes but as an overall lifestyle aesthetic (home ware, hotels , collaborations etc.). Nevertheless, Versace is still true to its roots: strong, stylish and ever evolving. Much of this success stems from Gianni's own genius which stylised the brands creative foundation but, Donatella's own creative flair and charisma is not to be ignored.

This fragrance is full of fresh bright clean fruity aquatic notes. Its pretty, light and reflects the cute crystal and clear packaging. Bright Crystal is a scent that everyone can enjoy, its perfect for that fresh clean sprightly feminine aura. If scents were typecast, Bright Crystal would be the generic "hot girl".

Although, this fragrance is fresh smelling, it does have an intriguing bitterness to it which spurs from the grapefruit like Yuzu top note that gives it some edginess. This fragrance doesn't have much projection and last as long as a substantial Celebrity romance (not that long - 3-5 hrs). I'd say its perfect for those who like to smell clean but, don't like to be smelt. Good for spring/summer and places where too much scent may get you in trouble (hot trains/trams/busses, clinical "corporate" offices, picky family/friends etc.). Its the type of scent that will be hard to offend even the most sensitive nostrils so, I can understand why Superdrugs would be giving this out to the masses as it will certainly please them.
Overall, I do like this scent yet I doubt I will rush off to buy the full size version. Personally whilst I do (honest I do) like fresh scents, I'm just not a fan of buying "clean" fragrances that smelt like I washed my clothes and bathed because, I do those things already (believe it or not). Bright Crystal does fall into that category but, its more punchier than what I've experienced with Korres White Tea, Bergamot and Freesia EDT. Irregardless of my blase nature towards "fresh scents" with its chunky but glamorous bottle, fresh but sweet scent and the Versace name behind this gem - I'm sure it will sell, well enough.
In the meantime I'll continue to be transfixed by Eros EDT for men packaging and look out for other things from the brand ...
