Treat Tuesday: Pamper Yourself

So as i don't usually post on a Tuesday i thought i would call it Treat Tuesday because i like to think of my posts as a little treat to you all, also this post is all about treating yourself so it is appropriate in two ways. The best way to feel at ease at a prom or a ball is feeling good about yourself and this doesn't come from those around you and their admiration of you but from within yourself and the way you feel. If you are comfortable in what your are wearing and how prepared you are, the more you will enjoy your evening.

For me this self-confidence comes from taking care of myself, either the day of the event or the night before. To prepare for my Summer Ball this year i had the whole day to myself to pamper myself. I realise not everyone has nothing to with their life so thats why it could be done the night before the event.

Prep: I like to start off with collecting everything i need for my pamper evening so i don't have to worry about finding things and so i know all of the steps that i am going to go through in that pamper session.

 Things you will need:
  • Bath Bomb/Bubble Bath
  • Face Mask
  • Book
  • Razor
  • Soap
  • Body Butter
  • Moisturiser
  • Fake Tan
  • Hair Mask
  • Shampoo
  • Nail Varnish
  • Hair Oil/Leave-in product
  • A Nice Beverage
  • Favorite Comfy Clothes

Step 1: After i have got everything together, i start to run my bath and put in a bath bomb or bubble bath depending on what i have. I find a bath is the best way to relax and de-stress before you start to get ready.

Step 2: Whilst my bath is running i put on my face mask, place my book near the bath and put all of the products i am going to use around the bath so that they are easily available whilst i am in the bath. Also put your beverage of choice by the bath. As i am over the legal age to drink i usually like a glass of wine but if you are not old enough to drink i would recommend something like elderflower cordial with water and ice as it is delicious.

Step 3: If you use a hair mask which can be used on dry hair skip this step. However if you have a hair mask which needs to be used on wet hair, use a shower to wash your hair with shampoo, or the sink if you are already running your bath.

Step 4: Get in the bath once it has finished running and relax. This is the time when i will shave my legs as it is much easier than doing it in the shower. Also i like to use my favourite bath products to make my skin smell lovely such as, at the moment, i am using Rose Jam shower gel from Lush and then after that i like to use the Ro Argan's Body Conditioner which is also from Lush. When i have it, i also like to use the shower smoothie called Turkish Delight from Lush as they all have a similar smell and it makes your skin so soft after using them all together. If i would give any tip in this step it would be to use scents which are similar as it will make the scent stronger and they won't clash.

Step 5: read pages of your book and relax until your bath goes cold or until your get bored.

Step 6: once you have finished in the bath, wash off your face mask in the sink and use the shower to wash off your hair mask.

Step 7: Dry yourself off and now it is time for your leave-in hair product such as a hair oil and to moisturise your body. I like to use one of The Body Shop body butters but it is totally up to you what you used based on the products that you have.

Step 8: OPTIONAL STEP: FAKE TAN - i like to use fake tan before i attend an event such as a ball and i like to use a spray tan like the Garnier dry body mist or a gradual tan such as the St Tropez one or the Dove summer glow one. The dove one is a lot cheaper and tends to be on offer. If you use a gradual tan you do not need to moisturise before as they have a moisturiser built in. i say this optional because you shouldn't feel like you should be tanned, to be honest i don't always do this step.

Step 9: once your moisturiser or fake tan has dried a bit, put on your comfy clothes and paint your nails in a colour which goes with your outfit, only you can decide on this colour. This is a step which you could do with friends and have a really girly time before the prom/ball.

Step 10: Go to bed if you are doing this the night before you have your Prom or Ball and if it is the same day start to get ready and do your make-up.

This is my usual pamper session before an exciting evening out and i have tried and tested it so i can tell you it works. Not only is it good before a night out but it can be adapted to be part of a weekly routine. I like to have pamper evening at least once a week because it makes me feel good about myself and helps me to de-stress and forget the problems in my life.

Enjoy your lovely pamper session xx
